Cpl. Delfino Martinez, joint forces observer, Fire Support Team, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), spent his first deployment to Afghanistan with an infantry unit but now organizes surface-to-surface fires for combat logistics patrols. “Last time I was in Afghanistan I was in the field doing three patrols a day with continuous enemy attacks, but now I’m with the logistics group — supporting the guys on the front lines,” he said.
