U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District has its mission assignment from FEMA for planning and site assessments of potential alternate care facilities in Arizona in response to COVID-19. Our team is assisting the state with early planning, engineering and contingency response capabilities to expedite assessment and conversion of existing facilities to be ready to receive medical equipment - staff and in support of their identified health care needs. The Corps, along with local and state officials, did facility assessments April 3 in Tucson.
