ARABIAN GULF (April 5, 2020) – Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Jackson Kulik, assigned to the Dragon Whales of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 28, watches a replenishment-at-sea between the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) and the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Walter S. Diehl (T-AO 193) from an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, attached to HSC 28, April 5, 2020. Bataan is the flagship for the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and, with embarked 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
