NAVAL BASE GUAM (April 11, 2020)
U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Phoenix McFadden, left, and Cpl. William Jessie lay ropes down as tracks for Naval heavy equipment vehicles to prevent damaging the deck of the Watson-class vehicle cargo ship USNS Dahl (T-AKR-312). Construction vehicles are being offloaded from the ship in order to facilitate construction of an Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) on Guam. The EMF will provide expanded medical capabilities in support of DoD’s COVID-19 response and will enable forces to be postured to support Guam and the region if a Defense Support of Civil Authorities mission is requested. McFadden, a native of Wynne, Arkansas, and Jessie, a native of Radford, Virginia, are motor transport mechanics with 3rd Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group.
