Thirty-nine Soldiers and Airmen from the Kentucky National Guard’s 123rd Civil Engineer Squadron and 613th Engineer Facilities Detachment constructed a 288-bed Alternate Care Facility at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky., from April 11-14, 2020. The site, which is expected to be operational April 15, will treat patients suffering from COVID-19 if area hospitals exceed available capacity. The location is scalable to 2,000 beds.
