JOINT BASE CAPE COD, Mass. -- Massachusetts Army National Guard (MAARNG) makes great progress mitigating past environmental impacts while increasing military training capabilities, earning them a 2020 First Place Award from the Secretary of the Army for Environmental Restoration (Installation). The EPA shut down all 40 ranges at Camp Edwards in 1997 because they thought that Army training would further contaminate the sole source of drinking water for Cape Cod. There is a MILCON project this Year 2020 to build a new Multipurpose Machine Gun (MPMG) range with two more range projects in the near future, all possible because of the work done by the IAGWSP.
