Recruits obey the six-foot distance rule while awaiting transport following a preliminary health screening at Chicago O’Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Newly received recruits are screened before entering a 14-day Restriction of Movement (ROM) prior to beginning their official in-processing for basic training. Recruit Training Command (RTC) is conducting the initial 14-day ROM in an off-site facility, which provides rooms with a small number of recruits, reducing the risk of spreading the virus amongst them should any individual be infected. This off-site ROM will also protect the recruits and staff already at RTC by increasing the space available at RTC for physical distancing procedures.
