    200407-N-AC165-0002 NORFOLK, Va. (Apr. 7, 2020) A Pathfinder-class oceanographic survey ship, USNS Maury (T-AGS-66), returned to Naval Station Norfolk, after 311 days in the Baltic and North Seas, supporting hydrographic research and other Navy strategic missions in the European theater of operations. Research by Maury and its sister ships are used to develop products and services for warfighter mission planning and surface and subsurface safety of navigation aids for the Navy’s Fleet. Maury is the seventh ship in her class, named after Commander Matthew Fontaine Maury, the “Father of Modern Oceanography”. (U.S. Navy photo by LaShawn Sykes/Released)
