New York Army National Guard Sgt. Bryen McAvoy, left, and Pfc. Alex Guzmán operate a distribution point at the Brooklyn food pantry site April 23, 2020. The Soldiers are assigned to the 1st Battalion, 258th Field Artillery, part of the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. On average, over 100,000 meals a day are delivered to individuals in need across all five New York City boroughs. This is part of a statewide effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
