JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 12, 2018) – Capt. Kevin Brown, Naval Hospital Jacksonville executive officer, speaks during a morning safety brief in 2018. The daily safety brief brings staff together (in person and by phone) from across the command to identify potential risks early, so they can be acted on promptly. Brown, a native of Genoa, Ohio, says "Patient safety is the most important issue for any healthcare organization. It's impossible to provide the high quality care that our beneficiaries deserve if it isn't done safely. At Naval Hospital Jacksonville, our commitment to patient safety starts every day with a discussion about what we learned from the previous day that can help us keep our patients safe." NH Jacksonville and Navy Medical Readiness and Training Command Jacksonville won the Chief of Naval Operation’s Award for Achievement in Ashore Safety (large non-industrial command) for Fiscal Year 2019.
