U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Jody Lamb, a pilot with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, conducts a preflight inspection on a UH-1Y Venom helicopter prior to a gas mask qualification flight on Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, April 28, 2020. The qualifications are used to keep Marines proficient in certain skills within their military occupational specialty. The mission of MCAS Camp Pendleton is to maintain and operate air station facilities and property, providing support and services that enable I Marine Expeditionary Force, tenants and visiting units to maintain and enhance their mission capability and combat readiness.
