FORT BENNING, Ga. – At Fort Benning's Lawson Army Airfield April 14, Soldiers who recently graduated here from One-Station Unit Training for service with the Infantry or Armor, exercise social distancing and wear masks or other face coverings as they board an aircraft enroute to their first post-training duty station. Until earlier this month, OSUT graduates could not move to their next assignments under a Pentagon COVID-19 travel ban, but the Army later okayed their departures. Meanwhile, Fort Benning officials on April 28 announced they were lifting just a few of the many restrictions in place here since March as a precaution against COVID-19, and said those were a prelude to what could become a wider, phased removal of many other restrictions.
