Local medical technicians transfer a recovered COVID-19 patient who was discharged from Stamford Hospital-Bennett Medical Center to a long-term care facility at Stamford, Conn., April 29, 2020. To help ease stress to the Connecticut health system caused by an influx of COVID-19 patients, the state requested support from Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, who in turn coordinated DOD support to form a multi-service medical task force. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the FEMA for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
