SIGONELLA, Italy (Feb. 05, 2020) Utilitiesman 2nd Class Petty Office Austin Wells, from Spirit Lake, Idaho, assigned to the Public Works Department at Naval Air Station Sigonella poses for a portrait in the water treatment facility. "My favorite part of the job is being able to do water treatment," said Wells. "Taking raw water that we've striped down to nothing like no minerals or chlorine, and then we add all of it back in and make non-drinkable water into drinkable." The Navy Public Works Department supports and maintains facilities and infrastructure on Naval installations worldwide as part of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) overall mission.
