Oklahoma National Guardsmen receive a briefing about proper "doffing" procedures before entering the Norman Veterans Center in Norman, Okla., April 29, 2020. Doffing is the procedure used to take off protective gear in a way that prevents the spread of any potential pathogens. The Guardsmen, who were at the Center to disinfect commonly touched surfaces and high traffic areas including handrails, chair arms, tables, switches and elevator buttons, split up into three teams, in order to more efficiently covering all of the common areas of the 275,000 square-foot facility. Using pressure sprayers and hand sprayers filled with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-approved disinfectants, the teams worked from the back of the facility to the front. The residents’ military service spans from World War II to Operation Desert Storm. (Oklahoma Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. Kasey M. Phipps)
