Staff Sgt. Tamika Elliott sings God Bless America during the seventh inning stretch at Petco Park, July 8. The San Diego Padres honored the military with a military appreciation day, which gave service members an opportunity to take the field during pre-game ceremonies and meet the starting lineup. Elliot, a 29-year-old Chester, Pa., native, serves as a system operations chief with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit's command element. The unit returned, June 21, from a seven-month deployment to the Western Pacific, Horn of Africa and Middle East regions.
