Michigan National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Paul Rogers administers the Oath of Commissioned Officers to 2nd Lt. Andrew Ladi IV, U.S. Army, in Lansing, Mich. on May 15, 2020.
“I have wanted to serve as an Army Officer since I was a child and have been working from a young age to accomplish this goal. I am thankful to have had the Michigan National Guard step in and organize such a meaningful event after my school was unable to hold our normal ceremony in person. Having this ceremony done in my home state of Michigan made the transition from civilian to Officer feel all the more special. I felt very honored to have had Maj. Gen. Rogers personally swear me in. Maj. Gen. Rogers’ presence and inspirational words gave good guidance to service before self as well as always remaining mindful of the opportunities that arise every step of the way. I am thankful for MG Rogers and his staff for their work in organizing the commissioning ceremony for 2nd Lt. Kelenske and myself.”
