200520-N-HR150-1043 PHILIPPINE SEA (May 20, 2020) - Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class John Marcincak, from Middletown, New Jersey, passes words over the 1MC in the pilot house of U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). The Boatswain's Mate of the Watch responsibilities include striking bells on time, "piping" events, and passing words over the 1MC. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
