Spc. Javier Roman, a fire control specialist with the Ohio Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment, has been serving as an interpreter for the large number of Spanish-speaking families coming through the distribution lines at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since March, about 500 Ohio National Guard personnel have been supporting food packaging and distribution operations at 14 regional warehouses and local food banks throughout the state.
