Petty Officer 3rd Class Pamela Naber, a Sailor with Expeditionary Medical Facility-M and a native of Gulfport, Miss., inputs vitals in patient charts in the Intensive Care Unit at Baton Rouge General Mid City campus May 28, 2020. The 100 EMF-M personnel, part of the Department of Defense COVID-19
response, coordinate closely with state, local, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of their personnel and the local population. The military personnel are not intended to replace existing staff or take the roles that could be filled by team members who might be reassigned from low volume
areas. They work to ease the strain of the significant patient care surge as part of the BRG Mid City family. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the whole-of-nation COVID-19 response.
