200519-N-FA490-1511 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 19, 2020) A Close In Weapons System (CIWS) fires from the aft missile deck aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) during a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). Halsey is part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG). COMPTUEX is an intensive exercise designed to fully integrate units of the CSG, while testing its ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea.
