The 301st RQS was tasked to support Eastern Range Clearing for SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launch which sent two American astronauts to the International Space Station, marking the first crewed spaceflight from the U.S. in nearly a decade. Special Missions Aviators perform essentially all other tasks other than piloting the aircraft, including acting as Flight Engineer, Loadmaster, Aerial Gunner, Navigator, Weapons System Specialist, Electronic Warfare Officer, Radio Operator, Sensor Operator and Combat Systems Officer.
