(June 2, 2020) USFF 2019 Shore Sailor of the Year (SOY) Navy Counselor 1st Class Rebecca Beck, of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106 and a native of Maryville, Tennessee, is presented with a Navy Commendation Medal during the 2019 USFF SOY ceremony at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training hangar onboard Naval Air Station Oceana. The program was established in 1972 by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Elmo Zumwalt and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John Whittet, to recognize the fleet’s top performing Sailors.
