The prototype M53 protective mask, soon to be extensively tested at Dugway Proving Ground, is manufactured in America. Its parent company is Avon Rubber of the United Kingdom, which has been making respirators and protective masks since the 1920s. The M53 has features created for Special Operations warfighters.
