200531-N-FQ453-1087 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 31, 2020) F/A-18E Super Hornets, from the "Mighty Shrikes" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 94, prepare to launch off the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG) is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is an intensive exercise designed to fully integrate units of the CSG, while testing a strike group's ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea.
