200604-N-FA444-1176 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 4, 2020) - Gunner's Mate Seaman Christopher Dorre, from Levittown, Pennsylvania, observes a MK 38 Mod 2 25mm machine gun shooting rounds from the main deck of U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). The Mod 2 was developed to improve a ship’s self-defense and meet the needs of ships throughout the fleet. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
