Navy civilian police and the U.S. Air Force Elite Gate Guard began joint gate operations June 12 providing physical security for the installation. The integration of the Elite Gate Guard into Navy installation access operations provides an opportunity for both the Air Force Defenders and the Department of the Navy civilian police officers to learn the others' culture and ensure a smooth transition in October.
