The passing of the colors symbolize the transfer of the U.S. Army South command responsibility to Command Sgt. Maj. Trevor Walker, during a ceremony on June 23 at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. The very soul of a unit is symbolized in the colors under which it fights for, for they represent not only the lineage and honors of the unit, but also the loyalty and unity of its Soldiers.
