A rescue bundle with a trail line hits the water during water drop training near Homer, Alaska, June 25, 2020. A trail line drop consists of dropping a package attached to a rope which allows the aircraft to lay the line across a boat. The drop was conducted to maintain qualifications for the Alaska Air National Guard’s pararescuemen and loadmasters. The 212th and 211th rescue squadrons continuously train to maintain operational readiness for civil search and rescue missions as well as contingency operations.
