Deputy Defense Secretary, Dr. Ashton B. Carter gives a coin to U.S. Army Sgt. Daniel Manning, from 112 Signal Detachment, Special Operations Command-Pacific, aboard the USS Missouri (BB-63) memorial July 7, 2012. Carter visited with PACOM to thank them for their service during a critical transition of U.S. Forces in the Asia-Pacific region. Carter is in the first stages of a 10-day trip to the Asia-Pacific region with stops in Guam, Japan, Thailand, India and South Korea.
