South Texas Veterans Health Care System successfully transferred Spinal Cord Injury Unit patients to the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas, Texas. The United States Air Force assisted by providing a C-130 aircraft and flight personnel to escort Veterans to Dallas-Love Field Airport, where the VA North Texas Spinal Cord staff received them. The transferring of these Veterans allowed South Texas to expand its COVID-19 capacity to provide support to other VA Medical Centers and community hospitals in the San Antonio and surrounding areas.
