The 19th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black observes recruits on the confidence course with 4th Recruit Training Battalion Sergeant Major, Sgt. Maj. Sigrid Rivera at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina, July 22, 2020. During the visit Sgt. Maj. Black toured the training facilities to observe changes made to keep recruits and Drill Instructors safe during COVID-19 restrictions. The changes include the use of face masks when less than six feet apart, and smaller platoon sizes in addition to the 14 days of restriction of movement before new recruits start training.
