Sergeant Maj. Donald W. Burris, the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion sergeant major, hands the battalion colors to Lt. Col. George C. Schreffler, as he prepares to relinquish his command of the battalion to Lt. Col. Gilbert W. Juarez during a change of command ceremony here July 20, 2012. Schreffler, from Harrisburg, Pa., recently returned from a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan with the battalion. Juarez, a San Diego native, was a company commander with 1st LAR in 2002, and rejoined the unit during the ceremony.
