Matteo Macaluso, from Chapin, S.C., Command Master Chief Andrew Tyler, from Oakland, Calif., Hull Maintenance Technician 1st Class James Bieker, from Holly, Colo., and Hull Maintenance Technician 2nd Class Christopher Daum, from Gresptown, Md., run on the flight deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) during an ongoing “Germantown Runs the World” event in which Sailors accumulate miles run, simulating the distance between various destinations around the world. Germantown, part of America Expeditionary Strike Group, is operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serves as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
