Contracted workers with the Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District monitor the site of construction on the future Department of Veterans Affairs clinic in Stockton, California between concrete placements in the early morning hours of July 24, 2020. The crews were placing concrete for a footer meant to support the edges of the main foundation of a Central Utility Plant for the other facilities onsite. The finished site will house a Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Community Living Center, and Engineering Logistics Building, all scheduled for completion in 2023. The new facilities will provide much-needed medical services to Central Valley veterans in a location much closer than existing facilities in Livermore and Palo Alto.
