U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Lapthe C. Flora, commanding general, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), addresses service members during a transfer of authority ceremony at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti (CLDJ), Aug. 5, 2020. The incoming Task Force Bayonet is comprised of more than 900 National Guard soldiers from Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa. During their deployment, Task Force Bayonet soldiers will contribute to international efforts to enhance security and stability in Africa by providing security force assistance and fostering the capabilities of U.S. partner nations.
