DEVESELU, Romania (Aug. 7, 2020)- Cmdr. John Fitzpatrick (left) reports to Capt. Joseph D. Femino commander, Command Task Force (CTF) 64 that he has been relieved of command of U. S. Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System Romania (AAMDS). The ceremony was conducted at Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania, Aug. 7, 2020. Change of command ceremonies are a time-honored naval tradition where the crew formally acknowledges the passing of the command from the current commanding officer to the next. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
