NEX North Island, Calif., reopened its barber shop on August 10 for active duty customers only. To help protect the health and well-being of customers and NEX associates, everyone in the barber shop must wear a mask at all times, maintain 6-ft of social distancing and temperatures are taken prior to getting a haircut. NEX Barber Shops were closed in mid-March out of an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In coordination with base leadership, NEX Barber Shops worldwide are beginning to reopen as HPCON levels deem it to be safe. The Navy Exchange Service Command is comprised of 14,000 personnel worldwide facilitating six business lines, NEX retail stores, the Navy Lodge Program, Telecommunications Program, Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility, Ships Store Program and the Uniform Program Management Office.
