U.S. Army Sgt. Patrick Rogers, of Galveston, Texas, hangs suspended by a hoist cable below a UH-60A Black Hawk medevac helicopter during training July 4. U.S. Army Spc. Terry Mills, a Black Hawk crew chief from Brandon, Miss., provides a little stability to the cable, while U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Brett Woods observes from inside. The three were conducting the hoist training to prepare for extractions in the dangerous mountain terrain in Regional-Command East. Later that day, the crew put their practice in to action to rescue a two infantry soldiers stranded on a mountain cliff.
