The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District's completed temporary measures to secure the west pier at Little Sodus Harbor, located in Fair Haven, New York, June 18, 2020.
The repairs consisted of three attachment types, type 1 and 2 attachments, consisting of yellow brackets with a purpose of preventing further damage to the sheet pile, and the type 3 attachments, made-up of cables attached to the damaged steel sheet pile to secure it to the land-side of the pier. The type 2 attachments are longer and at the south end where the sheet pile is further away from the concrete cap than other sections of the pier. Also, a six foot fence has been installed around the damaged concrete pier cap.
