U.S. Marines with Bridge Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), use a Bridge Erection Boat (BEB) to guide an interior bay at Naha Military Port, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 20, 2020 Improved Ribbon Bridges provide a wet-gap crossing capability either as a floating bridge or as a multi-bay raft for tracked and wheeled combat tactical vehicles. 3rd MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
