200826-N-PE636-0027 PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 26, 2020) The decommissioned guided-missile destroyer USS Charles F. Adams (DDG 2) is towed through the Delaware River en route to Brownsville, Texas, for dismantling. Adams, the U.S. Navy's first guided-missile destroyer built from the keel up, was decommissioned and retired to Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility Philadelphia over 30 years ago.
