A police officer with the Directorate of Emergency Services Police Department checks identification cards April 3, 2020, at the Main Gate at Fort McCoy, Wis. At that time, it was still early in the installation’s response to the national COVID-19 pandemic and the department had put in place numerous safety measures to keep the post and its personnel safe yet still maintain a high level security.
