Troopers from units across Fort Hood are awarded the Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) and Expert Soldier Badge (ESB) after undergoing five days of rigorous qualification testing, Fort Hood, Texas, August 28, 2020. The ESB and EIB qualification tests the Soldiers knowledge on basic Infantry and basic Soldier skills. These badges are not meant for everyone, just the elite. Only 18 out of 617 Troopers received the title “Expert” after all was said and done; 10 earned the EIB and 8 earned the ESB.
