United States Army Japan recently enhanced Contingency Command Post readiness by standardizing systems and processes necessary to prepare for deployment in support of short-notice or no-notice contingency operations Aug. 24-28.
The week-long command post exercise allowed participants to deploy from Camp Zama to U.S. Army Sagami General Depot to establish standard operating procedures, and familiarization of equipment and responsibilities for potential execution of their Operational Support Plan and Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Responses.
A "CCP" is a rapidly, deployable headquarters capable of providing leadership that is capable of planning and conducting small-scale contingency and humanitarian operations.
