A Critical Care Air Transport Team of the 142nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES) awaits the arrival of two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters from Delaware National Guard Army Aviation, Sept. 20, 2020 in New Castle, Del. The exercise simulated the transport of a patient from the battlefield to a critical care facility via a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and a C-130H2 configured for aeromedical evacuation. The C-130 can it be configured to carry up to 74 litter patients, it is outfitted with electrical and oxygen systems for aeromedical evacuation equipment, and is designed to reduce the negative impact of altitude on patients and medical crews.
