A nest of computers, screens, network cables, and staff monitor communication traffic and unit movements from a small room known as the Joint Operations Center (JOC) in Sacramento, California, Sept. 18, 2020. This elite team of California State and National Guard members handle all information, coordination and actions with steady and emergency operations throughout the state. Cooperation and management with partnering agencies like the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CAL OES), civilian state agencies, local law enforcement, active duty counterparts and national guard units help complete the mission.
