Mori Semo, M1 armor crewman with 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 137th Infantry Regiment, from Wichita, Kansas, practices unrolling a segment of hose during the field training day portion of the Wildland Firefighting Red Card Certification Course that took place at the Great Plains Regional Training Center in Salina Sept. 17. The objective of the course, which was made possible through a partnership between the Kansas National Guard and the Kansas Forest Service, was to increase statewide wildland firefighting capabilities by certifying Guardsmen across the state to respond to wildfires.
