Specially trained heavy equipment operators, engineers, and construction Soldiers focused their two weeks of annual training toward machinery like bulldozers, graders, and loaders during their small-scale collective training exercise at Letterkenny Army Depot near Chambersburg, Pa. in August. The training also included construction equipment recovery operations for the unit’s nearly 200 Soldiers. The 947th Quartermaster Company is a petroleum support unit responsible for storing, distributing, and ensuring the quality of petroleum products in a designated area. The recent training strengthened the unit’s warfighting skills with activities like identifying suitable land for building fuel supply points and clearing the area before further construction.
