PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 21, 2020) Col. Michael Nakonieczny, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) commanding officer, addresses Marine Noncommissioned Officers and Navy Petty Officers, during a panel hosted aboard USS America (LHA 6). The panel was held in order to address issues and faced by Marines and Sailors both on and off ship. America, flagship of Expeditionary Strike Group 7, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
